Corporate Restructuring
Pakistan Corporate Restructuring Company is a specialized set-up, established with the goal of isolating non-performing assets from the balance sheets of banks and financial institutions in order to make distressed industrial units financially and operationally viable, thereby generating employment and lifting, especially, the COVID-induced economic chill in the country.
About us
Non-Performing Assets of the Banking Industry have persistently shown a rising trend over the last several years, which have already touched an alarming level of PKR 864 Bln as of June 30, 2020 and are a source of grave concern and a major stumbling block in the way of rapid economic growth. These NPAs are expected to further augment in the wake of current economic meltdown, political uncertainty and COVID-19 Impact. With the slowdown of economy, revival and rehabilitation of potentially viable companies is also virtually suspended. Therefore, given the present overall economic situation of the country, there is a dire need to take extraordinary steps to expedite resolution of NPAs and make distressed companies financially and operationally viable.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the entire scenario and the businesses in Pakistan are now crumbling. Pakistan’s economy will remain subdued as the global and domestic spread of COVID-19 has brought an exceptional set of challenges for the country. The situation is extremely fluid and highly uncertain and the economic outlook will remain restrained as compared to the pre-outbreak estimates. On the backdrop of imminent economic turmoil, a huge influx of NPAs is expected to engulf the Baking/Financial sector in the years to come.
